Braces to me use to be something that people should get when they are younger.. I mean that's kinda how it was portrayed. But recently I have been seeing a lot of adults having braces. And I am one of them. I've wanted to get them since I was waaay younger, it was just that I couldn't afford it then. Insurance didn't cover and I wasn't working. lol.. Although I am now 24yrs old and barely having braces.. I don't feel as bad.... Ya people say brace face and what not.. But hey.. who cares! I'm an adult & little names like that doesn't hurt my feelings anymore :P
I am actually in love with having them!
Aside from the pain i went through to get them, and goes through when they get adjusted.. and all the work that comes with keeping my teeth clean. hehe...
I can now smile big without feeling insecure! Which has always been a big deal to me.. especially with taking pictures.. I can remember the few times that I smiled.. care free.. and not feeling awkward to smile big. :D
This is what my teeth looked like before:
It was a big part of me.. it's not like If I could have changed the past, I would change my teeth....
That's definitely not what I would do... Although it made me feel insecure.. it also taught me how to look pass that and you know.. pass the physical image of anybody. It actually helped me be a humble person.
My teeth now:
It's a lot more straighter... and as ya'll can see.. I can now smile bigger and not look awkward! hehe
I use to hate candid picture because i got so use to trying to cover my teeth that subconsciously when there's a camera around.... my first instinct is to cover them... and i would have a half open/half close mouth look....it was just.. so weird. haha very uncomfortable looking.
I don't care if someone calls me a brace face! I'm proud to be one and have them on! ^.^
I definitely can't wait to see all the progress I'd be going through in the next 2 years hehe
